First Anniversary of Sarah Barbosa Consulting

This post is a lot different than most.

It’s not educational, it’s not helpful nor is it meant to solve any problem.

This post, this one post is just for me.

Over a year ago, I had this idea. I wanted to help youth, but I didn’t know how.

I didn’t want young people to feel alone, and I didn’t want them to go into work environments designed to work against them. I wanted them to have options, to learn, to grow, and to help them help their communities.

This past year has been hard, there’s simply no way to sugarcoat it.

This year has demanded a lot from me and tested me in more ways than I can count.

But it was also a year of learning. Of pursuing. Of daring to dream.

A lot of the time, I made decisions based on what I thought others wanted to hear.

I’ve come to learn that that isn’t what’s going to help anyone.

Being me, infusing myself into my business, bringing who I am to the table, and showing up for myself will make me successful.

In the coming weeks, I am planning to roll out a few changes here at SBC. These changes I hope will improve my business, improve the help and services I offer and improve your experience engaging with youth.

Thank you for sticking by me. A very special thank you to my loved ones (you know who you are) who have been by my side the entire way - none of this would have been possible without you.

To the next year, a new opportunity, a new chance, and a new beginning.

Happy first anniversary, SBC!
